Dirty window panes <br />and dim astray streetlights <br />I see my shattered reflection <br />smeared with the antediluvian <br />behind bloodshot eyes <br />and the grand cacophony of sighs <br /> <br />I hid behind parted clouds <br />and fragments of yellow porcelains <br />a little game of hide and seek <br />where I disillusioned myself <br />that you will look for me <br />from the empty room you left me <br /> <br />No bird croons tonight, <br />spiderwebs wrote no aubade <br />to give room from this woebegone poem, <br />cars passed ever slightly <br />the headlights razed shadows on the wall, <br />and all the doors of the world <br />open to lead you into where <br />my lifeless body lie in questions <br /> <br />Did you mean what you said? <br />Or what you opted in this silence? <br />I wrote us a eulogy <br />breaking my obdurate fingers, <br />crushing my ribs to will myself <br />and swallow your diamonds<br /><br />Norman Santos<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem..../a-little-game-og-hi
