Sydney has welcomed 2022 with a spectacular fireworks display over its harbour as Australians marked the arrival of the new year with a mix of parties and more subdued celebrations.<br /><br />As midnight struck and 2021 retreated into history, Sydney's world-renowned New Year's Eve fireworks display began, lighting up the harbour to welcome the new year.<br />Organisers promised six tonnes of fireworks, 25,000 shooting effects, 9000 aerial shells and 80,000 pyrotechnic effects across two spectacular displays.<br /><br />The City of Sydney manages six locations around the harbour:<br /><br />Observatory Hill<br />Beare Park<br />Bicentennial Park<br />Giba Park<br />Pirrama Park<br />Embarkation Point<br />Visit the vantage point map for more information on all vantage point locations around the harbour.<br />View the full program and visit the official website to stay up to date with the latest details.
