US woman shot in the foot by dart after gender reveal goes wrong

This is the moment Houston-based woman, Veronica Fernandez gets shot in the foot by dart after her sister's gender reveal party goes horribly wrong.<br /><br />Veronica told Newsflare: "After convincing my sister and brother-in-law to let me and my family throw them a gender reveal, my brother-in-law agrees if it’s involving something cool, so we decided on real darts and a huge balloon. His idea, not mine!<br /><br />"Long story short it’s reveal time so of course I want the best view of my sisters reaction and stand directly across. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect the dart to go straight through the balloon and into my foot. I look down because I feel a pinch and there it is sticking out of my foot. Maybe it was the adrenaline but I had no clue until I looked down. <br /><br />"That’s when the panic sunk in and I’m not a needle person as it is so when I saw it I immediately think nerve damage or I’m going to bleed out (thank you 'Greys Anatomy'). I refuse to let anyone touch it so someone calls 911 but the Fire Department says they can’t remove it so they send me to the ER.<br /><br />"Luckily everything was okay and all I need was a tetanus shot. Kids don’t do this at home or better yet at all. Never want to see another dart in my life."<br /><br />The shocking clip from June 2018 went viral for the first time in April 2020 after it was posted on TikTok, where it boasts over 4.5 million views.
